Struggle for Freedom

He sang and he cried,
the drum beating in his mind.
Yes, he cried....
for the things he had tried.
He knew it was a struggle,
to help his people when they are in trouble.
He knew he had to argue
with the person he hardly knew.
For freedom, he struggled.
With government, it was trouble.
The government men were sent.
He smiled at them and asked them for land.
These people knew how to gamble.
They thought they could make him tremble.
He showed them a new sight,
while they only gave a sigh.
For he knew the time had come
for his people's freedom.
